NEWS RELEASE
TOWNSHIP OF SPRINGWATER
*************************
The Township of Springwater is cancelling all municipally run summer camp programs based on the current state of COVID-19 and the provincial guidelines in place.

The health and safety of all staff and campers is the Township’s first priority and the summer camp programs are designed and structured in a way that cannot be delivered in line with current provincial guidelines for social distancing and gatherings.

As a result, all Township run summer camp programs, including summer quest camps, specialty camps and camp on wheels, are being cancelled.

“This decision was not made lightly,” says Briana Dean, Recreation & Special Event Coordinator. “We strive to create a fun, friendly and safe experience for all of our campers. The current guidelines would make it challenging to create an atmosphere where kids can be kids, while learning and developing friendships.”

Staff will be issuing refunds to those who have already registered for programs. Residents are asked to please have patience as the Township works through the refund process.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact our Recreation, Parks and Facilities team at [email protected] or 705-728-4784 Ext. 2100.
