NEWS RELEASE
TOWNSHIP OF SPRINGWATER
*************************
In an effort to stop the spread of COVID19, on March 30 the Government of Ontario extended the Declaration of Emergency to include a new Emergency Order which includes the closure of parks, sports fields and communal or shared public spaces. As a result, the township has extended its closure of playgrounds and fitness equipment to include all outdoor recreational amenities such as; sports fields, parks, tennis courts, and outdoor rinks.

Notice will be posted at all parks, playgrounds and recreational amenities throughout the township. Additionally, barricades have been installed at some entrances to deter people from using the parks and provide a visual reminder of the closure.

The township’s Municipal Law Enforcement Officers will work in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police to educate the public and patrol these areas to ensure the Emergency Order is being adhered to.
