Oro-Medonte boat launch parking restricted to local residents

Township boat launches and parks are now open but parking permits are required for Oro-Medonte and will be issued to residents only

Further to the Provincial Government’s implementation of Stage 1 –A Framework for Reopening our Province, the Township of Oro-Medonte has opened its boat launches and parks for use of green space.

Bayview Memorial Park and beach area located at 687 Lakeshore Road is now also open for limited recreational use. In order to limit the opportunities for community transmission of COVID 19, and to protect the well-being of the Oro-Medonte community, parking permits required for Oro-Medonte boat launches and waterfront parks will be issued to Oro-Medonte residents only at this time.

Oro-Medonte residents are encouraged to visit https://bit.ly/3dBzHLl to register for their seasonal parking permit. Please note that a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided during registration with a temporary 14-day seasonal parking permit to be displayed on vehicle windshields. A permanent seasonal parking permit will be mailed to the address provided during the registration process.

The Township will continue to review the issuance of seasonal and day use parking permits. Any potential adjustments will be made available on the Township’s website by visiting oromedonte.ca/Pages/Covid-19-Information.

The Township’s Municipal Law department is monitoring Township parking lots/areas. Parking offence tickets will be issued for vehicles parked without an Oro-Medonte seasonal parking permit displayed.
