Walmart Canada's head office has confirmed an associate at the Bradford Walmart has tested positive for COVID-19.

"We are in contact with the associate and are keeping them in our thoughts," said Adam Grachnik, Director of Corporate Affairs. "Everyone at Walmart wishes them a speedy recovery."

The employee last worked at the Bradford store on May 16 and the store remains open.

Out of an abundance of caution, associates identified as being in close prolonged contact have been directed to self-isolate and, as a precaution, Walmart has conducted a deep cleaning of the store.

"We have regular enhanced cleaning in the store and other social distancing measures in place," Grachnik confirmed.

"Rest assured, we will continue to take measures necessary to ensure the well-being of our customers and associates."
