COVID case confirmed at Collingwood school

Case at Admiral Collingwood Elementary School is the eighth in the county since mid-September

The Simcoe County District School Board has confirmed an individual from Admiral Collingwood Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. 

According to the school board a "class/cohort is required to self-isolate." 

Neither the school nor the board has confirmed whether the positive case was a student or staff member. 

This is the eighth confirmed COVID-19 school-related case in Simcoe County. 

There are currently three cases confirmed at Simcoe County District School Board schools, including Admiral Collingwood Elementary, Bear Creek Secondary School and Twin Lakes Secondary School. Classrooms have been closed at Admiral Collingwood and at Bear Creek in Barrie. 

There are five confirmed school-related cases within Simcoe Muskoka District Catholic School Board facilities, and there are six classrooms closed. The schools include St. Paul's (Alliston), St. John Vianney (Barrie), St. Angela Merici (Bradford), Sister Catherine Donnelly (Barrie), and Father F.X. O'Reilly (Tottenham).
