Catholic board confirms COVID case at Sister Catherine Donnelly school

Two classes at Hanmer Street school have been sent home to quarantine for two weeks and have been encouraged to get tested

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board has confirmed another case of COVID-19 in one of its schools.

Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School, which is located on Hanmer Street in Barrie's north end, has one confirmed case of COVID-19 in an individual.

Two classes have been sent home to quarantine for two weeks and have been encouraged to get a COVID-19 test by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.

The school remains open.

This case marks the fifth case of COVID-19 in a school in Simcoe County, the third with the Catholic board.

  • Sept. 24 – Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School, Barrie (individual)
