NEWS RELEASE
BARRIE NATIVE FRIENDSHIP CENTRE

The Barrie Native Friendship Centre, located at 175 Bayfield St., is pleased to present its first All-Candidates Forum for the upcoming federal election.

At 6:30 p.m. (on Sept. 27), representatives from each party will gather in a panel to discuss general issues and platform ideology.

“Indigenous voters are on average less likely to vote in Canadian elections then other demographics of Canadians. In the 2011 election voter turnout rose significantly within the Indigenous population and hopefully the 2019 election will see an even better turnout.”

The BNFC All-Candidates Forum will be open to all interested votes and the event is free to attend. We are accepting donations at the event to our BNFC Hunger to Hope Food Locker of non-perishable goods.

A small portion of the evening will be directed to discussion of Indigenous issues and an open question and answer period will be held to conclude the night. Each party will be allotted time to devote to their own individual and collective party platforms in discussion.
