New guidelines for restarting Canadian economy, federal COVID-19 modelling to be released today

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says latest COVID-19 modelling numbers released today will show that public health measures are working, but warns that the pandemic is far from over. 

Canadian public health officials will brief the public on the updated modelling at noon, which Trudeau says will show that the curve is flattening in some regions. 

Modelling numbers released by the federal government April 9 projected between 11,000 and 22,000 deaths from COVID-19 over the course of the pandemic. 

The prime minister also announced that new guidelines on restarting Canada's economy will also be released today.
