YARMOUTH - A Yarmouth man is going to have to make a court appearance after an accidental call to 911 led to an unusual discovery by authorities.

An August 5th, a mis-dialled call to 911 led to members responding to a home, and while they were checking to ensure there was no emergency, officers found 100 firearms on the property. That number included 94 long guns, and six handguns, none of which were properly secured.

The homeowner was arrested without incident for unsafe storage of a firearm, and police seized all the weapons. The person was later released, and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court in October.

The investigation is ongoing.
