Guided by regional artist Leandra Almeida, 10 youth ages 14 to 18 worked collaboratively in a series of six workshops at the MacLaren to create 11 vibrant panels.

Inspired by the theme of Canadian flora and fauna, each youth chose a particular flower or animal that is symbolic of Ontario, painted in their individual styles.

Created with the residents of The Bay Club in mind, the intention for this project was to bring vibrant colour and brightness into their communal living space for all to enjoy — from the pool deck to the party room, or when taking a wander through the hallway where the mural is displayed.

The exhibiting artists are Emily Amos, Kaitlyn Hewett, Katharine Keeping, Maeve Mannion, Meghan McKay, Markus McKie, Courtney Metcalfe, Mya Thompson, Atlas Wagner and Elyse Zoltan.

An opening reception will take place at The Bay Club on Saturday, May 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. Remarks are at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome.
