At approximately 12 noon on Friday, June 1, 2018, Springwater Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of a structure fire on Fralick Road in Minesing.

Approximately 25 firefighters responded to the scene and upon arrival discovered a fully-involved barn fire. A tanker shuttle was established and mutual aid was requested with Clearview Township providing an additional two tanker trucks.

Firefighters established a defensive operation and worked to limit exposure to nearby buildings. The fire was brought under control within one hour.

No livestock were present and no injuries were reported, however the barn has been deemed a total loss.

“Thank you to our partners from Clearview Township, the OPP, Simcoe County Paramedics and Craig Williams from Wasaga Beach Fire who acted as Alternate County Coordinator today,” says Springwater Deputy Fire Chief Jeff French.

The cause of the fire is undetermined however is not deemed suspicious.
