An early-morning fire at Barrie Paintball caused an estimated $700,000 in damage to the building on 10th Line in Essa Township on Saturday.

Essa Fire Chief Doug Burgin said the fire involved a vehicle parked outside a building, which has a mix of business and residential uses.

“Fire extended into the building,” he said. “(We) estimate damage at $700,000 for building and contents.”

Burgin said there were no injuries and all of the building’s occupants got out safely.

Essa firefighters responded to the call at 6:37 a.m.

The fire remains under investigation and the Office of the Fire Marshal has been notified, Burgin said.
